Ayla

Reference Checked

Hi there I'm Ayla! I am 25 years old, originally from London though I grew up mostly in Chamonix allowing me to speak both english and french fluently. I recently graduated from the University of Westminster with a degree in English Literature and Creative Writing and have decided to return home to Chamonix for the winter. Having grown up in France with a Swedish mother and British father, my somewhat unusual childhood included being correspondence schooled, whilst going sailing every year with my family all over the Pacific for several months at a time. During the winter I was based in Chamonix where I became a competitive snowboarder. I soon joined Team GB which led to competing and training overseas, making me independent from a young age. These experiences have left me with a keen self-starter attitude, a lot of resilience and experience working with people from all over the world in multiple languages. Furthermore, I gained a great appreciation for working with children, teaching them new skills, inspiring them to follow their dreams and helping them develop in each of their interests. I have a great appreciation for the arts, having completed my foundation in acting at the Oxford School of Drama, followed by my degree. Nowadays you can find me practicing the electric guitar for hours daily, combining my love for music and writing. I am always finding fun activities to do with the children I look after, from sports to baking/cooking, painting, music and anything else we can come up with! I am a big advocate for keeping away from screens and getting busy with our hands. Do get in touch if you would like to know more about me and my childcare experience. I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Qualifications

I hold a BA(Hons) in English Literature and Creative Writing, as well as having completed my foundation in acting at the Oxford School of Drama. I am paediatric first aid trained and have over 7 years of experience working in childcare with children aged 6 months - 12 years old. I have also worked as a private tutor for the last 5 years, teaching English, French and guitar (acoustic & electric) to both children and adults.

Experience

I have been working in childcare for over 7 years. During this time, I have looked after children of all ages, from 7 months old up to teen years. I have had long term positions as a nanny with families in London whilst I was completing my studies there (6 months full time nanny to a 10 month old), as well as more short term jobs in Chamonix when I would return for the holidays. My experience so far includes looking after up to 3 children at one time, including one being under the age of 2. Winter 2024 I held a full time position as a nanny to a 7 month old in Chamonix (as well as occasionally looking after their 3 year old). Reference available.

My References

  • Whilst vacationing in Chamonix during the summer, my wife and I employed Ayla to look after our two children aged 7 & 9. Ayla was a brilliant nanny to our children. They had a wonderful time with her, going for picnics, bike rides, swimming at the pool, and baking on the days it rained. It was a joy to come back to happy faces at the end of the day. Ayla was reliable and flexible when we needed to change child care hours. I would certainly hire her again if we returned to Chamonix and would recommend her to anyone looking for a nanny during the holidays!
  • Ayla has been a wonderful nanny to our 11 month old daughter. During her 6 month period working with us, she has been a joy to have around the house. Cooking healthy meals for our daughter, reading to her, playing with her, taking her out to the park and no less, baby gymnastics! From the moment we met Ayla she was warm and engaging, making us all feel instantly at ease. She has always been punctual and kept the kitchen and play areas tidy after use. I would recommend her to anyone looking for nanny.
