About Us

Dear Families, I'm Suzie, founder of Alpine Child Care :)

Suzie - Founder of Alpine Child Care

Alpine Child Care began back in 2012 when my friend Lucy and I, both new mums with babies in tow, met regularly at local playgroups. Alongside the usual conversations about nappies and sleepless nights, we discovered we shared another passion – skiing and the mountains.

Lucy was the main drive and started Alpine Child Care to help families enjoy their ski holidays while knowing their children were in safe, experienced hands. When she decided to pursue a new adventure in 2015, I was delighted to take over the business, and I've been running it ever since.

Today, Alpine Child Care is very much a family business. From April through to September it's mostly just me behind the scenes, answering emails, helping parents, supporting nannies and preparing for the winter season. As bookings begin to snowball in the autumn, I bring in extra help to make sure every family and nanny continues to receive the personal service we're known for.

Life has changed a little since those early playgroup days. My children are now 13 and 15, and we've swapped mountain life for Brighton. Although I miss waking up to snow-covered peaks, we still make time to head back to the Alps as a family whenever we can. These days I probably sneak away to the mountains a little more often than the children would like—they're never shy about reminding me—but I always send plenty of photos!

Our philosophy has always been simple: if we look after our nannies, they'll be able to provide the very best care for the families who trust us. We pride ourselves on building long-term relationships with our childcare professionals, offering support throughout the season and creating a community where they feel valued and appreciated.

Every nanny who joins Alpine Child Care goes through a thorough vetting process. We carefully review their childcare qualifications, references and experience, and carry out the relevant background checks for the country they live in wherever possible. We want parents to feel confident that the person caring for their children is experienced, trustworthy and genuinely loves working with children.

For families, our aim is simple too: to make arranging childcare as easy and stress-free as possible. Whether you're looking for a few hours of childcare while you ski, evening babysitting or full-day care throughout your holiday, we'll help match you with a local nanny who suits your family's needs.

After more than a decade helping families enjoy memorable ski holidays, we're incredibly proud of the community we've built. Thank you for considering Alpine Child Care—we'd love to help make your next trip to the mountains even more relaxing and we hope you enjoy our new updated website.
