Katie

Reference Checked

My name is Katie and this winter is my seventh winter season. At 31, I am a little older than most here, but with age comes wisdom! (or so I'm told). I moved here in 2019 for a ski season and never really left! I am now a French resident and have worked as a live-in nanny for a family in Annecy, looking after a 3.5-year-old and a 14-month-old. I now work as a freelance nanny for families visiting for holidays and locals looking for childcare on weekends and during school holidays every summer and winter season. I am comfortable with children of all ages and have my own car. A little more background on me should you wish to get to know me a little better... I graduated from Northumbria University in 2017 and worked in marketing in the online gaming industry since. After 2 years I decided the 9-5 life isn't for me and made the decision to leave the Isle of Man to explore the world some more. During my time in education, I always had a weekend job and worked with children through charity work and babysitting. I volunteered for a charity called 'Friends of Chernobyl's Children' where I would take groups of children aged 6-11 on organised days out, chaperoning approximately six children at one time. Before leaving the Isle of Man, I volunteered with my local Junior Achievement charity, mentoring groups of 6th form students in their Young Enterprise competition. Apart from skiing and travel, my other passion is netball. Unfortunately, it's not a sport I can practice out here but I'm already looking forward to the summer months when I can put that goal defence bib on and get back on the court! I hope this gives you a good insight into who I am but if you have any questions or would like to get to know me better, please don't hesitate to contact me!

Qualifications

Experienced childcare provider - having worked as a live-in nanny, seasonal nanny in resort and regular babysitter.

Experience

I have worked as a nanny in Morzine for both winter and summer seasons and as a live-in nanny for a family in Annecy. I have experience looking after children aged 4 months - 11 years and have my own car. I know the PDS area very well and am comfortable looking after children at home at your chalet, out and about in the resort or even on the slopes.

My References

  • I’ve always been nervous leaving my children in the care of others. It’s something I would do reluctantly at best. Until Katie came along. She’s a breath of fresh air, a fiercely intelligent, quick-witted and charming person to be around who can communicate and care for children on a level so naturally her presence In my home was a treat for my children. My daughter genuinely used to look forward to me needing to work late so that she could come round. I trust her completely, she’s one of life’s truly good people and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone. Kathryn Goodall
  • Katie was really brilliant looking after our children, they were to really happy being left with her making us feel at ease to go out and enjoy the mountains! She had a very capable manner whilst being friendly and efficient as well as warm and nurturing to all the little people! Would 100% recommend her! Frances Taylor Wren St Juan D'Aulps March 2020
