Experience History
For three summers, I have worked at a primary school holiday camp, supervising groups of children throughout full days of activities.
I have also worked as a primary-school teaching assistant, supporting children both individually and within the classroom.
I have also volunteered with nursery and reception-aged children, helping with play-based learning, classroom routines and age-appropriate activities.
These experiences have given me an understanding of how children’s needs, communication styles and levels of independence vary considerably depending on their age and development.
Alongside this, I have worked as a children’s swimming assistant, helping to teach and support children up to the age of 12.
My lifeguarding experience has further strengthened my safeguarding awareness, vigilance and ability to remain calm and responsible in busy environments. I understand the importance of, anticipating risks, following emergency procedures and ensuring that children remain safe without preventing them from having fun.
I am confident caring for multiple children at once and creating a structured, enjoyable and supportive environment. I am comfortable leading activities, supervising mealtimes, supporting children with changing and outdoor clothing, managing routines, responding to minor injuries or upset, and communicating clearly with parents and colleagues.
While I am continuing to develop my formal childcare qualifications, I bring several years of practical experience, strong safeguarding awareness and a genuine enthusiasm for working with children. I am reliable, energetic and attentive, and I take pride in ensuring that children feel safe, included and excited about the activities they are taking part in.
