About

Intro

Hi, My name is Rebecca. I’m originally from Ireland and English is my first language. I’m moving to Chamonix with my partner, who has recently started a job as an accountant. I’m a physiotherapist by background, with experience working in paediatrics, as well as previous experience working in schools as a classroom assistant. I’m also involved in coaching and sport. I coach junior athletics and children’s hockey during the summer, and I’m a manager for the Northern Ireland Junior Mountain Running Team, which competes internationally. Outside of work, I enjoy running, skiing and climbing, so I’m really looking forward to moving to Chamonix and getting involved in the local community and outdoor activities.

Experience history

Paediatric Physiotherapy: Through my role as a paediatric physiotherapist, I have worked with children from under one year old up to 15 years old. My experience includes working with children with additional needs, sporting injuries and developmental delays in babies. Northern Ireland Junior Mountain Running Team Manager: As manager of the Northern Ireland Junior Mountain Running Team, I have experience leading groups of young athletes abroad to compete in international competitions. I am responsible for organising and coordinating trips, providing first aid, and coaching and supporting athletes in preparation for races. This role has developed my organisational, leadership and communication skills, as well as my ability to take responsibility for the wellbeing of young athletes. Hockey, Athletics Coach & Summer Scheme Volunteer: I coach hockey to children under five, regularly managing groups of up to 20 children. I also coach junior athletics to children aged 5–15. These roles have given me extensive experience managing groups of children, creating engaging activities and adapting my approach to suit different ages and abilities. I have also volunteered at summer schemes working with young children. Primary School Classroom Assistant: I previously worked as a classroom assistant with children aged 4–5 in a primary school. My responsibilities included supporting children with their learning and development, providing individual assistance where needed, and supporting the teacher with the day-to-day running of the classroom.
