Hello, I'm Marcus, an 18 year old in search of some child care work in Alpe d'huez this winter to sustain a fulfilling gap year in the mountains. I am booked in to stay at Hotel Le chamois from the 22nd of January - 23rd February but would be easily encouraged to stay longer if I can find some work to fund this. I am a trustworthy, friendly, chatty and am a likeable character. I love spending time outdoors and am a keen snowboarder having spent lots of time in the alps on holidays snowboarding with my family. As well as this, my greatest passion is for rugby and have performed at county and academy level. I enjoy, socialising and partying and in the summer I went to several music festivals with friends whilst working outdoors erecting marquees for social events 5 days a week. I am from the uk in the county Dorset. My youngest sister and oldest both ride horses and we own a small holding with both cows and sheep. I have a close relationship with my siblings (especially the youngest (9 yrs) and enjoy taking her out on pony rides and caring for her when my parents are way.

In summer 2022 I housesat for two children (both girls aged 8 and the other 9). Some of the activities I was involved in included feeding the animals (dog walks), playing on the trampoline, netball shooting, card games, hot chocolate drinking and many more! . I have babysat for lots of other families in the village who I have been recommended to in the area. 14-16 yr olds (30 students). During my time at boarding school I spent some evenings looking after and supporting students with their homework and studies. I also partook in the peer mentoring of younger students. I would arrange weekly catch ups with a few of the students to check in with their well being and support them with anything I could do to ensure they were enjoying school. I grew up with younger siblings, the youngest of which was 9 so I am used to young children and enjoy being around them. Although I have mostly looked after and cared for slightly older children, I have had some experience with toddlers. The attached photo shows myself with my niece at Christmas who I met for the first time. As you can see, I enjoy making children smile and entertaining them. I have always enjoyed sharing stories with my sister. With this in mind, I have already gathered some age appropriate stories for entertaining whilst I am babysitting. Jez Alborough is one of our favourite authors.

• Over the last couple of years Marcus has taken care of our children on a number of occassions. He is always great fun and willing to join in whatever the children have planned for him! He is always armed with a fun activity to keep them entertained too. Completely reliable and trustworthy, lovely young man.
