Qualifications

British Red Cross First Aid for Babies and Children trained. Previously Volunteer Assistant at the Ecole Maternelle La Plagne, helping 3-5 year olds, before, during and after ski/snow shoe sessions Languages: English and everyday French and Spanish Professional qualification: Chartered Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing (DipM, MCIM) CELTA qualified volunteer English as second language teacher. Taught children in Peru 2018, and teens and adults in El Salvador 2019, 2021 online and autumn 2023. DBS July 2018

Experience History

Since 2016 I have provided child care for well over 50 families (100+ children) on an ‘as needs’ basis for Alpine Child Care as well as directly with families This has ranged from a few hours babysitting to nannying all day for 3 weeks with the same family. I have experience looking after infants 3 months to 15 years old, babies, toddlers and children in multiple age family or friend groups. Am happy to cook and feed the child/children, take them out for an activity, as well as put them to bed as scheduled or needed. Some children have had severe allergies and/or special needs. I have a wealth of experience to ensure little ones settle quickly, have fun, and are relaxed and comfortable being looked after by me and you, as a parent, are confident they are in safe and reliable hands.

I have know Lesley for over 5 years now and she is great with both my children (8 months and 6 years old). She is very calm, takes everything in her stride, is reliable and I trust her completely. She has looked after my youngest since he was 4 months old and he has a big smile whenever he sees her.
Lesley is a fantastic babysitter and a lovely person. Even before we arrived on holiday, Lesley was extremely helpful over email, helping us source a few things we needed for our hols. She babysat for us twice during our holiday and was brilliant. As soon as you meet Lesley you know that she is trustworthy, warm and someone that you are able to leave your children with and have no worries at all. Our 2 year old woke up crying at one point (very unusual for her) and Lesley gently cuddled her back to a sleepy state and she slept through after that. We had Lesley to look after 10 month old Jack for 3 full days during our week in Belle Plagne. She was reliable and friendly, and we felt confident leaving Jack with her from the offset. She brought a sledge to take him for walks, and extra toys for him to play with, and obviously had a lot of experience looking after young children. We had a fantastic time in La Plagne which was made all the better by having Lesley and Robyn to help us. Both of them were great and very flexible - we had 5 children of differing ages - the two youngest (both 2 year olds) had constant childcare - we would just pop in every now and then from the slopes with the others as and when they got tired. Both nannies took this in their stride. The oldest child is 8 and they even helped her with homework something that neither of us (parents) were able to encourage. Lesley surpassed our expectations and was absolutely wonderful, we cannot recommend her highly enough. Our 6 month old daughter had only been left with family for short periods of time prior to this trip, but she settled with Lesley as soon as she arrived and gave her big smiles every morning when she returned. Lesley brought age appropriate toys, sang her nursery rhymes, helped improve her naps in the cot, and encouraged her to develop over the week - encouraging her to sit and indulging in her love of chatting. We honestly couldn’t have asked for a more perfect ’stranger' to leave her with and while we initially only booked Lesley for 4 half mornings, we ended up asking her to stay for 6 mornings and one full day, we felt that comfortable with her. I wish Lesley was living down the road from us in the UK as I’d have her round all of the time! We will definitely be using Lesley again should we return to La Plagne and the Alps. Lesley looked after our 2 year old son in Belle Plagne for the week of 1st April 2018. She was fantastic with him, and he really enjoyed spending time with her. Lesley Valentine is an absolute joy to work with! Our child immediately felt comfortable with her, probably due to the fact that she treated him exactly like a lovely grandmother would. She arrived on time every day, always with a new treasure to entertain, and was happy to take him outside to play in the snow. She worked with us when our schedule changed a little which was great, but most importantly I felt completely comfortable leaving my child in her her care. Lesley Valentine (alongside another nanny) looked after our 6 children (aged between 5 and 7) during our recent holiday in La Plagne. Lesley was friendly, approachable, helpful and great with the children. Every day she met our children at ski school and walked them (and all their equipment!) back to our chalet. She sorted them lunch and made sure they had a variety of fun activities to fill their afternoon. Every day we came back to very happy children telling us about the fun they had had and the new songs/games they had been taught. Lesley also proactively suggested fun things to do with the children such as going out for a snowy picnic and tobogganing, both of which the children loved. Review - Lesley Valentine, 16-23rd December 23. Plagne Soleil We stayed in Plagne Soleil in December 2023. Lesley was our nanny for the week. She looked after my 2 year old daughter 9-1pm, and collected my 4 year old from ski school every day at 12pm and then gave them both lunch in our apartment. Lesley was an exceptional Nanny. She really looked after both the children well, and supported their needs. Lesley was very reliable and flexible which made our holiday very enjoyable. Lesley knows the area really well so it was good chatting to her and learning about the local area. I would highly recommend Lesley to other families. Best wishes Heather
