Hi :) I'm laisssa and I am 24 years old and from a small seaside town called Tenby in Wales UK . I am very bubly , outgoing, energetic, sporty and hardworking. My nickname by everyone who knows me is smiler as I am always happy and have a smile on my face. When people meet me they said I have a positive energy that makes anyone around me feel happy. I love sports and being active and not one for sitting down for long. I enjoy running, walking, cycling, surfing, tennis, and anything outdoors. I have just been accepted into nursing school and my dream s to become a paediateic nurse and work with terminally ill children. I love to travel and explore new cultures and meet people from all around the world. I have been out in morzine since early December and love working with children and having lots of adventures in the snow.

I have my cache level 3 diploma in childcare and education and playwork level 2. I have also completed my paediatric first aid training and have a first class honours degree in health, nutrition and lifestyle. I have ADHD and autism awareness training.

I have completed a number of childcare placements during my level 3 diploma working with children 0 to 13 years. I have volunteered for a children charity for over a year visiting a vulnerable family of six children all under the age of 10 of a weekly basis. In summer 2017 I volunteered on health promotion in local schools and communities in Ghana West Africa, as well as working alongside the health care staff on malaria prevention workshops and teaching in the orhphanages. I have also worked as a kids rep for first choice holidays in Spain for three months in summer 2018 working with children 0 to 16 years. My time in Spain involved hosting children's parties, themed sessions and pool based water sports. I have two younger sisters which I have also babysitter from a young age. I have been nannying in morzine since December 16th working with a variety of ages form 0-13 years, doing 48 hour weeks, which I am absolutely loving.

She initially participated in our 40 hour ‘preparing to volunteer training course’ and was both a vocal and considerate member of the group. This training covered a range of key components including our policies and procedures, up-to-date safeguarding of children and adults, equality and diversity, the practicalities of confidentiality and more role specific matters. During this time we identified that Larissa was more than capable of taking on board a range of responsibilities and were confident of her abilities to work with vulnerable families within their own home environment. Since her training Larissa has been matched with one family and has focused on supporting them for the entirety of her time with us. Working very closely with a family unit of 8 Larissa has been a consistent and dependable role model. Her flexibility has enabled her to offer a variety of support options and allowed the family time to ‘breathe’ and adjust to their challenging circumstances. She is a confident and vivacious young woman who aspires to help empower those around her to achieve their own goals. Larissa is also not afraid to voice her concerns and recognises her own limitations so is comfortable in seeking additional support herself when necessary. To date Larissa has accrued 145 hours of voluntary work. I have found Larissa to be polite, engaging, personable, and appreciated by those she works with. Her Home-Start family recognise the unique value she offers them and feel that their ceasing of support in July reflects the quality of support she has provided. We will be very sorry to see Larissa leave us this July as she has been a great member of our team. • We were lucky enough to have Larissa as our Nanny over the festive period in Morzine. She provided excellent daily care for our daughter (2yo) and nephew (4yo) and babysat for older children in the group too. Larissa is friendly, personable and professional with outstanding childcare skills. She was adept at entertaining and engaging with the children, flexible in her approach, and endeared herself greatly to the wider family. • Larissa looked after two of the children in our ski party for two mornings. Both girls are 3 years old. She arrived to the chalet on the first morning on time and laden with toys to entertain the girls. Before we’d even left, the girls were enjoying having their faces painted whilst having a pretend tea party. They were having so much fun and didn’t give us a second glance when we left. One requirement that we had was for Larissa to bring the girls into Morzine to meet us for lunch. She was punctual on every occasion. She took Betsy and Nancy to the park, to see ponies and treated them to hot chocolate. Their favourite activity was taking the Pleney Gondola and sledging at the top. We wouldn’t hesitate to use Larissa again. She is polite, kind, punctual and the girls absolutely loved her. Betsy has asked if Larissa can visit us at home. At the time she was employed by ‘Cheeky Monkeys’, we hired her to look after our 15 month old and two older children. Following this period I would be delighted to recommend her for any position. We found Larissa’s professionalism, work ethic and flexibility to be outstanding, regularly going beyond expectations in order to make our lives easier and the holiday enjoyable for all five of us. From adjusting her start and finish hours in order to facilitate meeting lessons, to altering rendezvous locations so we could maximise time on the slopes. Throughout her time working for us Larissa demonstrated a mature attitude, adapting her plans and activities to suit our children’s individual needs or moods, whilst remaining within the general routine. All three children enjoyed spending time with her and were sad to see her leave each evening. Larissa’s reliability, strong work ethic and mature attitude mean I would happily recommend her for any position. She is currently applying to study as a paediatric nurse: a position at which I feel she will excel as her natural empathy enables her to intuitively relate and engage with children. • Larissa cared for our two young children (4 and 2) while we visited Les Gets in France. We cannot recommend her highly enough as an experienced, mature and caring individual with bounds of energy to entertain and wear out the little ones. Larissa was an excellent communicator throughout out visit, punctual and trustworthy in every respect. After getting to know her for a short while we knew our little ones were in great hands and would be happy and well looked after for as long as we needed. • To whom it may concern Reference for Larissa Jones We had the pleasure of employing Larissa to look after our 20 month old son George during our family holiday in Morzine, France in April 2019. We were concerned about leaving him as he had never been left with anyone outside of our family. Larissa immediately put our minds at rest. She is a delightful, confident lady and George took to her immediately. They did numerous activities during the week including swimming, sledging, visits to the park, rides on the train and on the bus to name a few. She was always careful to schedule these activities round his meal and nap times. We were travelling with a large party of adults and children of mixed ages and by the end of the week, Larissa felt part of the family.
