Before embarking on my Au Pair journey, I gained valuable experience volunteering at a kindergarten, where I cared for up to 10 children at once. One of my most rewarding experiences was looking after a 2-year-old toddler and a 3-month-old baby. We formed a special bond over two years, and I'm delighted that we still keep in touch today. As an Au Pair, I embraced a wide range of responsibilities, as the parents trusted me with significant autonomy. My duties included: Childcare: Providing daily care, including feeding, bathing, and naptime routines. Meal Planning: Creating nutritious and delicious meals tailored to the children's dietary needs and preferences. Household Management: Keeping the children's living spaces clean and organized. Laundry: Handling the children's laundry efficiently. Activity Planning: Organizing stimulating activities, both indoors and outdoors, to foster their development. Transportation: Safely transporting the children to various activities and appointments. Socialization: Encouraging social interaction and positive relationships with other children. • Laura was an au pair for my two children. She lived with our family for 2 years and we remain in touch to this day. She was adventurous, loving, funny, creative, mindful, and an amazing caretaker for the kids. And she makes the most delicious salsas and sauces!!!! Years and years later, my children still miss her and share memories they made while she cared for them. I cannot recommend her enough.
• Laura did a fantastic job of entertaining and caring for our 2 girls (5 and 2) Our oldest, who usually struggles with new caregivers adapted very quickly to Laura's welcoming and engaging personality. Even when the weather was too poor to go outside our girls were still excited to tell us about the fun things Miss Laura did with them that day. • Laura is a natural with children. She shows compassion and prioritises the importance of friendship and respect. Kiana immediately bonded with her and asked after her when she went home. During the six half days that we employed Laura, she taught Kiana some French, took her to the library, on the small train and to the local playground. • Laura looked after our 10 month old recently during a week long ski break (for a few hours each day). It was clear that she has experience with kids as she was able to calm, feed, change nappies and put our little one down for a nap easily. She is a good communicator - I would get regular updates during the sit and she let us know well in advance that a particular date didn’t suit her anymore. I really appreciated her flexibility as she looked after the baby at a cafe on the slopes and our accommodation, and was also flexible regarding working around our schedule. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a sitter for their little one!
