Hi! My name is Thea Gisselman, and I’m a 26-year-old woman from Sweden. In my spare time, I love being out in nature and staying active. During the winter, I really enjoy skiing — both alpine and cross-country. I also like taking the snowmobile out to a beautiful spot to have a traditional Swedish fika. For those unfamiliar with the term, fika is a cozy break where you enjoy something simple and delicious to eat and drink — like a sandwich, some cookies, and a cup of hot chocolate or coffee. In the summer, I enjoy hiking, walking, swimming, running, and fishing — basically anything that gets me outdoors. I love spending time in nature, especially with family and friends. When the weather isn’t as nice, I also enjoy staying in, cooking, baking, or watching a good movie. I’m generally an active and curious person who enjoys working out, traveling, and discovering new places and experiences. For the past few years, I’ve been living in Stockholm, but unfortunately, I haven’t been able to ski as much as I’d like due to the lack of snow and the distance to good ski areas. So, my two friends and I decided to spend a season in Chamonix to fully enjoy a proper winter wonderland and I hope to look after your children while I am there!

I have graduated from both high school and college. I hold a bachelor's degree in nursing and am currently studying part-time via distance learning to become a specialized pediatric nurse. Since earning my nursing degree two years ago, I have been working at a pediatric emergency department, caring for children from newborns up to 18 years old. As part of my role, I have completed CPR training several times — with a focus on pediatric resuscitation — and have participated in multiple professional development courses to continuously improve my knowledge and skills.

As I mentioned earlier, I have been working with children at a hospital for a bit over two years now, and I truly enjoy it. I love working with kids — they give so much energy, even though they can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. In addition to this experience, I have also worked as a cross-country skiing instructor together with a friend, coaching around 20 children between the ages of 5 and 13. I also briefly worked as a substitute teacher/resource assistant for a fourth-grade boy with anger and concentration difficulties. Furthermore, I have helped take care of my younger brother and my cousins when they were little. I also did an internship at a preschool when I was in eighth grade, which gave me my first real experience working with young children in a structured environment.
