Hello! I'm Sophie and I would love to look after your children this winter. I'm 20 years old, a Mathematics student and have worked with many children's groups over the years, and so feel confident that I will be able to look after yours! I'm very close with my cousins, whose ages range from 5 to 13 years old, and I am often responsible for them at family gatherings or when staying at their house. A little about myself that you may (or may not) find interesting: I adore baking. If hired, your children would be able to bake with me to make cakes and biscuits for the whole family to enjoy after a long day skiing. I am also a team player. I personally play rugby at University level, and have taken my cousin to several of his own rugby trainings and helped out there. I love to work together in teams to achieve our goals, and I would love to be part of your family's team. I love to ski, and have been skiing since I was just 4 years old, and I would love to help your children to know the joy of skiing too! I hope that you consider me to be your nanny!

Qualifications

I am currently a third year Mathematics student on a four year Masters program with Durham University. At the moment I am on an Erasmus year abroad, studying at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany. I am excellent with children, and whilst I have no formal qualifications, I can provide references to attest to my ability to work in child care. I love children, and would love to look after yours. I have basic first aid training, but no formal qualifications in that either. I also mentor Mathematics, although this has been mostly at a higher level of education. I have informally mentored all of my younger cousins however and helped them with their schoolwork as they have grown up.

Experience

I have experience babysitting children for extended periods of time and thoroughly enjoy taking an active part in their games, as well as ensuring that everyone is safe and happy. I have also worked with children on a voluntary basis, both at a Beavers Scouting group and at a youth theatre group called Acting Up. Beavers are the youngest branch of the Scouts, with an age range of 6 to 8 years old, and the class I worked with at Acting Up had an age range of 7 to 11 years old. I am also comfortable working with younger children as well. At both groups I was often responsible for groups of up to 20 children.

My References

  • Sophie is my niece and she has for many years been a firm favourite with my children over the last 10 years. she is gentle and talks appropriately to them and is definitely well loved by them. I am happy to leave them in her company, she is reliable and self sufficient in terms of problem solving and coming up with ideas. She had good family values and is certainly respectful with all she works with.
