Hello! I live in the wild West of Ireland where I have worked in hospitality these last two years at an Adventure Centre and Resort. I grew up in Ontario, Canada, and moved to Ireland at age 20, eleven years ago. This will be my first winter season in mainland Europe; I am ashamed to say that I am a Canadian who has never tried downhill ski before! :-) Cross country, yes, but downhill, no. I also hope to re-activate my French language (it is still in there somewhere!) and meet friendly families to share some time with and, obviously, expand on my childcare experience. I love being outdoors (and living in beautiful places in general), healthy living, animals, travelling, and living lightly and compassionately. I have learnt a lot from the children I have cared for and I welcome any opportunities that come my way - both as a worker and a traveller!

I am currently studying for my Fetac level 6 Major Award in Early Childhood Education as well as Montessori Method. I have received Irish Garda Vetting and a Canadian criminal record check. I will be completing a First Aid course before December 2016.

I have worked with families as a child-minder for the last ten years since I re-located from Canada to the West of Ireland. These were all in private homes. Hours varied between long-term/full-time to part-time to casual as the children got older. I recently decided to qualify formally in childcare so that I could expand my work opportunities. I had always done other work as my main vocation alongside this work simply because I enjoyed child-work. It never occurred to me to make it my main profession until recently. I am very glad I decided to make the switch as the working environment of a pre-school is refreshing in its creativity and liveliness!

• Heather Kerr has provided childcare for our twelve month old son James on a part-time basis during this year. During Heather's time here we have always found her to be reliable, punctual and always placing our Son's needs as top priority. Heather has always being very patient and kind with our son and encourages lots of interaction, playtime and storytime which, he really enjoys. Heather is of a very pleasant & relaxed nature which, we find great for our Son as he is a busy toddler requiring fulltime attention! We have a Restaurant here and Heather is so flexible that she has helped here from time to time.
