Experience & Qualifications

Hi, I am Lucie Russell and I am 21. I have decided to work in child care this winter because I have always worked well with children and would love to spend more time doing so! I have spent a total of four months living and caring for children in the USA during the past two summers and I have years of babysitting experience. I am very active, I love dancing and playing hockey and am an advanced skier. I am a very family driven person as have grown up with two younger siblings and we skied together annually during our childhoods, which is why I would love to work with children in a ski resort.

I have graduated from a BA (HONS) International Relations and Politics Degree with a 2:1. I have a kind and considerate personality and have a fun-loving sense of humour. I am good at organising both myself and others and am extremely good at communicating with other people. Finally, I can show enthusiasm whilst maintaining a calm demeanour around children and regard myself as an extremely responsible, reliable and patient person.

My previous job roles include working as a Sales Assistant for an independent clothes boutique, a Student Brand Ambassador for Bumble before being promoted to Head Student Ambassador for Bumble in Sheffield, five years as a waitress and two summers working as a Head Counsellor at Pierce Camp Birchmont in New Hampshire, where I cared for and lived with large groups of teenagers. I absolutely loved my time in the USA, the skills it gave me were invaluable, thus I'd love to put them to further use working in alpine child care. I have also had additional work experience at a political think tank, working as an English tutor and as a volunteer classroom assistant, both for children between the ages of 8-10.

BA (HONS) 2:1 in International Relations and Politics, University of Sheffield

3 A’ Levels: Geography A*, Politics B, Psychology B

12 GCSE’s: A* in French, 5 A’s and 6 B’s

- I have worked two summers at a traditional American summer camp, Pierce Camp Birchmont, as a head counsellor. In my first summer I looked after and lived with 13-14 year old's and in my second I was with 15-16 year old's. This required me to deal with camper issues and challenging behaviour and to ensure the well-being and safety of young people. I scheduled, coordinated and ran activities for groups of up to 45 children. I acted as a positive and responsible 24-hour role model for the campers and other counsellors whilst displaying a constant hard-working attitude in a demanding and fast-paced environment.

- I have extensive babysitting experience, having looked after children of all ages.

- I have been an English tutor for a nine year old boy, tutoring him with English language skills.

- I have volunteered in a primary school for a year, where I was a classroom assistant for children aged eight to ten.

- I was a volunteer youth hockey coach for four years at my local hockey club, Blueharts, where I coached children aged 4-8 to play hockey.

- I was a volunteer dance instructor for two years, teaching dances to 11-12 year old's which were then performed in shows.

"I have known Lucie for approximately 7 years. Lucy started off working in my restaurant and she then started babysitting and tutoring maths to my son from when he was 7 years old, he is now 14. Nothing is too much for Lucie, she is polite and has a lovely nanny. She was always excellent with the children in the restaurant, she has a way with them. My son still loves her and he is 14. I would recommend Lucy without hesitation, you would be lucky to have her.

"I have known Lucy for three and a half years. I was Lucy's manager at a company called Bumble. Lucy was one of the key players in our team and was one of our most enthusiastic and reliable team members. She was consistent and reliable and although I do not have first hand experience of Lucy with children I can wholeheartedly give her an excellent character reference.

Many Thanks
