They got on so well that she looked after him for more than 4 weeks this winter. On each occasion Lorraine has provided an inexhaustible range of age-appropriate activities. Weather permitting, there was always a trip out; to the farm, to the trampoline, to see the rescue dogs, or to the play park and the odd sneaky hot chocolate. The usual refrain before bedtime this year was “is ‘Raine coming to play tomorrow?” She has always been punctual and accommodating of last minute changes of plan. I would thoroughly recommend her to anyone looking for reliable childcare in Tignes. "

Elle a été vraiment formidable avec elle et Ava a été à l'aise dès la fin du 1er jour. Elle lui a donné à déjeuner, a joué avec elle, s'est promenée, lui a fait faire de la peinture et des dessins et nous étions ravis. De plus, elle nous envoyait tous les jours un petit message quand nous étions sur les pistes pour nous dire que tout allait bien. Lorraine est très calme et patiente. Elle a toujours des idées pour occuper les enfants. Je la recommande et si nous retournons à Tignes l'année prochaine nous ferons de nouveau appel à elle."

Reference Received from: Joe and Ann Martin Reference: "Lorraine Setterfield was our nanny during our stay in Val d'Isere last week, and looked after our 4 year old daughter, Emily, for 6 days from around 8am to 4pm each day. We have skied for 7 years now, and needed nannies for 4 of them. Lorraine is the best nanny we have ever encountered. Emily has special needs (Downs Syndrome), and could not have been looked after better. Lorraine not only brought her out for lots of fresh air, but did multiple and varied activities with her. They did lots of arts and crafts, baking and trips out. Emily formed a great relationship with Lorraine, as did we all. Lorraine has a calm, mature take on things, which gives her a big advantage. She genuinely seems to enjoy working with kids - at least with ours. Her communication skills are outstanding. So I unreservedly recommend Lorraine to anyone looking for a responsible nanny who will stimulate their children. I just hope she isn't booked out when we go looking for her in the coming years! Très attentionnée, pleine d’idées pour occuper les enfants, elle organise des activités et cerise sur le gâteau, elle organise avec votre accord, des sorties à l’extérieur ce qui enchante les petits. Flexible en ce qui concerne les horaires, on ne pouvait pas trouver mieux pour la réussite de nos vacances. Sa connaissance du français est suffisamment bonne pour communiquer et se faire comprendre de tous. Lorraine took care of our 2.5 years old for 8 days and occasionally of our 6 years old son. Very professional, full of ideas to keep the kids busy, she also take the kids out with your permission and visit a farm, the security and the dogs,…. The kids loved it. She adapted her roster according to our needs, she was really part of a successful holidays. Her French is good, she can easily communicate in case of any problems. "

She arrived each morning at our chalet laden with activities and ideas to entertain the kids ( three toddlers of 2yrs11mths,2 yrs3mths and 14 mths ). They latched onto her quickly and she kept them entertained both inside the chalet and out in the snow.When older brother and sister returned from ski classes,she did craft classes with them which they loved. I would certainly recommend Lorraine and not hesitate to re-employ her if we are in Tignes again. "

She 'made' our holiday as it was clear from the first day that our daughters were very happy in her care leaving us some free time to enjoy the slopes. The day we arrived my daughter came down with chicken pox - but even this did not concern Lorraine - she took everything in her stride and cared for my daughter perfectly. Every day Lorraine bought a magic box of toys and activities for the children so they certainly did not have time to be bored. We came home from the slopes to baked cookies and cards that the children had made - simply delightful! Lorraine was punctual and so flexible for us. In addition she gave us invaluable advice on where we should go and what we should do in the area so we had super nights out. We certainly hope to ski next year if possible - Lorraine will be the reason we return to Val Claret."

Lorraine has a very good knowledge about the resort and is keen to help the families she works with. She seemed to know the kinds of things our 7 and 10 yr old children would like to do during their holiday, and they really enjoyed the two afternoons they spent with her (a ride on the funicular to see the view and drink hot chocolate, sledging at Le Lac, or going out for pizza and crepes). They told us they sat on a ski-doo and went bungee jumping on trampolines too. I know they laughed a lot together and the smiling faces on the photos she sent us when we got home are very happy memories! "

She always turned up as agreed and enthusiastically looked after all children. Lorraine's manner was kind and supportive to the kids, and they enjoyed the activities she did with them - ranging from cupcake making to dough play, colouring in, playing in the snow and reading stories. She expected good behaviour and the kids respected this whilst having fun at the same time. It must have been a handful, but Lorraine managed it admirably. It resulted in a stress-free holiday for everyone and enabled us to strike a good balance between enjoying our skiing and spending good times with our children."
