Experience & Qualifications

At Bryanston School, I discovered the sport of Fives, based around the game created at Eton when the school first began. I quickly fell in love with it and became the captain of fives in my upper sixth year. I am passionate about the sport, and have enjoyed playing and promoting it, gaining it the recognition it deserves.

During this time, I also decided to set up a Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) publication. Initially starting as an annual publication, it is on track to be published twice a year. As Editor in chief putting together the journal, while collaborating with writers I found it to be extremely rewarding and enjoyable.

I am also a big fan of Drama and acting. As well as adapting scripts and directing them. My notable achievements include directing a play (with a cast of approximately 70 people) during the house drama festival at Bryanston, being awarded both the best play trophy and a best director award from the Drama Department. I have also directed a second smaller play during the lower sixth drama festival (with a cast of approximately 12 people).

I also love to cook, I have hosted dinner parties and have cooked for as many as 10 people at a time. I try to cook healthy meals using whatever fresh ingredients are available to me, as well as this in child care settings I urge children to be as involved with the cooking as possible as I feel it is a necessary life skill that should be developed as early as possible.

I hold a Paediatric First Aid Qualification from Tiger Lily Health
Trained in food safety, fire safety and paediatric health and safety. Obtained training while working as a Nursery Assistant.

My main experience with childcare has been from July 13th 2020 till present working at Magdalen Nursery with 2-4 year olds as a full time Nursery Assistant. While working there I was delighted to have been made permanent in a class 6 weeks in advance of the normal procedure, due to my high level of performance.

I have also worked with unpaid child care experience working with year 9 boys during my final year at school, included living with them in the boarding house for the first term, duties included caring for both their academic and pastoral well-being while undergoing their first year at Bryanston. I was also a middle school prefect during my final year at Thomas’s Clapham. Duties included looking after a year 3 class and helping them with their English and mathematics work during breaks and my free periods.

"Hector is charismatic, warm, generous, energetic and funny. In his final year at school he was given the job of helping new 13-year old boarders settle in and he did this magnificently, Hector communicates very well with adults and is a quick learner and an efficient worker. I recommend him to you wholeheartedly. Once you have met Hector you will not forget him!"
