Experience & Qualifications

Introduction:

I am very hardworking, a quick learner but also lots of fun to be around. I am a very positive person and love to be active and outdoors in nature as much as possible. In my spare time I like swimming, walking, skiing, knitting, playing pool, photography, singing and playing guitar as well as lots of relaxing in the evenings! I love food and will try almost anything new.
On the weekends I work in a city centre bar, I love socialising and meeting other people, I'm also a bit of a night owl.
In my previous season I was nannying in a hotel, this time I wanted to do something a little different and I like the fact that I can move around to meet new people from different backgrounds.
Qualifications:

I have achieved 5 GCSE's at a grade C or above, including music, english, science, maths and photography.
After school I went to college where I completed a level 3 BTEC in Children's care, learning and development (A-level equivalent). Upon completion of this course I have also done a level 3 paediatric first aid course twice, the last first aid course I completed was in September 2016 and is valid for three years.
I have also completed level 2 food safety courses, health and safety in the work place, safeguarding etc...
Experience:

During my college course I did over 800 hours of work placements with children of ages between 0-8 as well as children with differing SEN.
My most recent experience was working as a nanny on a ski season in Les Gets for families on holiday in our family hotel, the winter season of 2016/17. I worked with children aged 11 months to 11 years throughout my 5 month season, and was responsible for dropping them at ski school (depending on age) as well as preparing a lunch for them every day.
I have worked for 2 years as a deputy manager of an out-of-school club working with children from 4-14 . My main responsibilities were planning activities and trips, dealing with payments to the company, building strong and trusting relationships with the families, preparing snacks for the children and most importantly, having fun with the children.

Alongside my deputy manager role I also worked in a kindergarten in a Steiner Academy, working with children aged 3-5. In this role I was required to prepare and design a menu for lunch times which the children would help cook, I pride myself on having a great understanding of healthy eating and lifestyles. The children and I would make bread from scratch together and chop vegetables in order for them to see how food goes from the raw ingredients to a lovely meal.

Most recently I have completed the winter ski season 17/18 in France, at a family hotel working with children aged 6 months to 4 years. This was a fantastic adventure and I really enjoyed having the younger children this time. My responsiblities were increased as the hotel had limited qualified nannies working and so I was given extra opportunities to work harder and more efficiently.

My ongoing experience is the fact I have been an aunty for nearly 10 years, I now have four nephews aged 5-10 and one neice aged 3, I regularly stay overnight to babysit them as well as taking them out on trips individually and together.
I also nanny twice a week for a child who attended my kindergarten, I collect him and his brother from school and drive them home where I make them dinner and play until their mum gets home.

"Good afternoon Sue
Hattie worked as my deputy at the out of school, holiday and breakfast club for children aged 4 to 12 years. She was always warm friendly and caring in her approach and was always firm but fair always looking to reward and praise the children wherever possible. She was good at listening to their opinions and ideas and implemented these through activities we offered.
I wish her every success

"I can confirm that Harriet Wetherden was employed by VIP SKI for the 16/17 winter season, during this time Hatti had three weeks away due to an injury.

During her time with VIP SKI, Hatti cared for children aged between 2 and 9 years of age, ensuring they had a safe, fun filled and activity packed holiday. This involved providing appropriate games and activities both indoors and out, ski school drop off/pick up’s and on occasion she would help with the evening meal bath and bedtime routine.

Hatti was expected to work independently with a different family each week in our chalet hotel providing tailored yet flexible care for each individual child. Each week saw children of different ages arrive and therefore a new challenge.
