Experience & Qualifications

Introduction:

Hi, I'm Ana! Welcome to the mountains! :)

I've lived here in the Tarantaise Valley for 7 years and am lucky to have worked in all the local resorts. I'm a private nanny and English Language teacher with experience working in both the childcare and education industry.

Back in the UK, I worked in management in the education industry for 5 years. I ran an Ofsted registered Maths and English tuition centre for children aged 4-16. I've also managed a few Summer International Language Schools, welcoming students aged 7-17 years old from all over the world. I loved my jobs... however, the mountains were calling and I moved back to the Alps where I married and found our dream mountain home here in the valley. :)

I became a mum in 2021 and again in 2022 and have since balanced being at home with my own little ones and providing childcare for other families in the valley.

I'm a keen skier, love to build snowmen and warm up inside with extra chocolatey hot chocolates! During the summer months I love biking and hiking, I really enjoy being outdoors and taking the kiddies on mountain adventures! I look forward to meeting you and showing your little ones the best spots in our corner of the mountains 😊

Experience:

I have worked in the childcare and education industry for 13 years. Between 2010-2011, I worked and traveled with one family as a private nanny and tutor around the French Alps and Italian countryside, caring for three children aged 5-10. I have also worked as Head Nanny for a ski company in Morzine, supervising different children and infants each week, as well as supporting and managing other nannies.

On my return to the UK, I then provided childcare including overnight supervision, for two different families. One family had two lovely girls, aged 10 and 7. This was a part live-in role as sole carer for the girls when the mother was working in London throughout the week. The other family I worked with had one girl aged 3, and one boy of 15 months and as sole carer throughout the day, it was my responsibility to carry our all nursery duties for the toddler and infant.

Since then, I have worked teaching students aged 4+ in educational settings including a Tuition Centre and an International Language School. As well as being a qualified TEFL teacher, I have managed several summer camps/schools providing an activity and leisure programme for children alongside English language lessons.

I became a mum in 2021 and then again in 2022 and love mountain adventures with my own little ones.

I have both an English and French Police Check and am First Aid Trained.

"Ana has in the past looked after my two children on many occasions, including when they were babies under one years old, whilst I returned to work. Ana is fantastic with children and is passionate about education and my children have especially learnt a lot from her whilst being in her care. My children always got very excited to see her and have had lots of fun with her also, because she is a warm and friendly person.

Ana has, and will always be a brilliant role model for children. She is professional, compassionate and highly skilled. She is also extremely organised, reliable and punctual. I would definitely recommend Ana for a role regarding childcare. Once you meet Ana, you will not want to lose her. You can be absolutely certain your children will be safe in her care, as I did.

"In my 6 years of working for Explore Learning, I have never met a more engaging, passionate, credible member of staff. The parents absolutely trusted Ana, seeking her advice and expert option when making decisions about how best to support their child. Furthermore, the children absolutely loved her- her kind and friendly manner coupled with her desire to motivate them meant they not only wanted to attend the centre, but demonstrated huge progress in their time with us.

Her nurturing manner and desire to train and support staff made her an excellent manager and someone that the whole team respected. She was unfalteringly driven, hardworking and a wonderful addition to the team.

I cannot recommend her highly enough- her decision to leave Explore to go travelling and pursue new ventures is most certainly a huge loss to our company.

"Ana worked in a management capacity for our company, to begin with she looked after our homestay accommodation and did an excellent job in recruiting and vetting homestay families, and then in placing our visiting children in suitable homestay accommodation. Homestay families were very positive about Anas work and described her as friendly, helpful and professional. It was very useful having Ana take the lead in our homestay accommodation as she reliably dealt with any issues.

Ana was then in charge of our summer programme in Talbot Heath School (Bournemouth, UK). Her manner with the children on our programme as well as their parents and our staff was also very friendly and professional. I have no qualms in recommending Ana, especially when it's in the field of child care - it truly was a joy to work with her!

"We stayed in Villaroger in mid February 2023 and used Ana as our nanny for our 4 year old son and 2 year old daughter for 2 days. We were a little concerned at leaving our kids with a stranger, particularly our daughter who is very clingy to her Mummy. Ana was keen to find out more about the kids before she arrived and what she could bring to entertain the kids and immediately set them at ease upon her arrival. Our kids loved and looked forward to their time with Ana and Ana even messaged to check how our journey was back to the airport. Ana is caring, fun, kind and our kids loved her - she would be our go to choice should we return! Thank you Ana!
