Experience & Qualifications

Dear Parents,
I am a Latvian girl and traveler who loves to work with kids, be in nature, play games and enjoy outdoor activites. In 2015 I finished my studies and have a Bachelor degree in Environmental Science. I've been traveling a lot around Europe, with bike and have hiked around Iceland as well. I love new challanges, have positive and open minded attitude. Love to learn new skills and it's important for me to be reliable. Also like mountains and skiing a lot and that's why I decided to spend this winter in Alps.

I've got chilcare experience in Girl Guide and Scout organization where I am a leader for the last 5 years there and a member for more than 10 years. I've finished First aid training 2 years ago.

I've been Girl guide and Scout leader for the last 5 years, where I regulary make activities for around 8-12 year old kids. Also taking care of them in camps and hikes. I got experience while I was growing up, since I have a brother and sister who are 7 and 8 years younger than me. So I've been around children all my life and I really enjoy spending time with them.

"When Agate told me about Alpine Child Care I though that she's a really great fit for this job.
Agate's sister Antra and brother Raivis are quite younger than she is, so Agate grew up as a role model for them, playing and helping them doing their homework, cooking and taking them out for walks.
The first time I met Agate was at a girl guides meeting more than 10 years ago and we've been friends ever since. Spending time together in camps, hikes, lesson or just girls evenings I have noticed how careful she is - she would always make sure that everything she does is done correctly paying attention to details whether it's building a tent, baking cookies with brownies (girl guides at a younger age) or explaining information about upcoming event. I have also noticed how patient she is - Agate would stay calm until finally completing intended for example while changing a bike tire.
Agate is great at cheering up, she knows what to say to encourage someone or how to support when needed, she has this great laughter that makes other around her laugh as well. And those are only few characters that describe Agate.
Soon after I met Agate for the first time we released that mountain skiing is a common hobby we share. As Latvia is pretty flat then whenever Agate would go abroad for skiing it wouldn't be just about the skiing but also about admiring and appreciating the mountains, I know that Agate would share this passion with each kid she would babysit so that they would love the wonderful nature of mountains and would want to come back.

"I have been working together with Agate leading scout and guide lessons for five years now. I can only say the best about her. We started leading meetings for girls aged 7 and older 5 years ago, she has always shown empathy towards the children and when they are misbehaving she tackles the problem with an open mind and always tries to find the triggers to such behaviors. The children love her dearly and always trust her. Agate is a very reliable and helpful person, not once she has been late to any of the classes, and she always prepares well in advance for them. Agate is creative and adventurous and there is so much she can teach to others that could broaden their perspectives. "
